VisionMaker on the RoadNative American Public Telecommunications, Inc. (NAPT) proudly announces the launch of its newest initiative - VisionMaker on the Road. Designed to bring a Native film festival to communities nationwide, VisionMaker on the Road is leading the way for opportunities to share authentic, Native American documentary film in educational settings through a screening environment.

The campaign launched in early November 2010, in honor of Native American Heritage Month. Soon to follow in the early coming year will be a full-navigation microsite that will allow programmers to peruse through the vast array of documentary offerings available for screenings.

"NAPT is very excited to offer this film festival opportunity. NAPT's film service, VisionMaker, is the nation's leader in the delivery of the best Native American film and video programs. Most of these programs have been featured on PBS stations nationwide. As we embark on our landmark 35th Anniversary, we find it fitting to offer this opportunity to learn and grow with today's youth in educational institutions everywhere," said NAPT's Executive Director Shirley K. Sneve (Rosebud Sioux).

VisionMaker on the Road strives to bring the best Native documentary and feature films to your town - at an affordable price. These films are curated by NAPT to address accurate representations from Native perspectives.

In addition to the DVDs available for screening, VisionMaker on the Road also offers an array of marketing and educational resources to aid in your screening promotions, including but not limited to: posters; press releases; email, Facebook and Twitter templates for Internet marketing initiatives; Viewer Discussion Guides for post-screening discussions; and Lesson Plans for select titles.

"Every other year, NAPT presents the VisionMaker Film Festival in Lincoln, Neb. - NAPT's headquarters. Now we have the chance to share a little bit of our home tradition with everyone who has taken an interest in learning about Native American culture past and present, and takes part in the storytelling of our people," said NAPT Assistant Director Georgiana Lee (Navajo).

In addition to the upcoming screenings and the launch of the VisionMaker on the Road microsite, NAPT is developing an abundance of educational resources to be available on their second microsite, which is currently in development, for educators. NAPT plans to deliver educational content that meets national curriculum standards for the classroom.
