"There You Go Again: Orwell Comes to America" — Now Online

Three graduate schools of journalism, Columbia University, UC Berkeley, and the USC Annenberg School for Communication collaborated to present panels of historians, linguists, cognitive experts, journalists, government officials, and political consultants to assess the current state of public discourse — and journalism’s response to it — one year before a hotly contested presidential election. Presentations were made by Michael J. Copps, Konstanty Gebert, Masha Gessen, Charlayne Hunter-Gault, George Lakoff, Nicholas Lemann, Frank Luntz, Josh Marshall, Jack Miles, Orville Schell, George Soros, Alessandra Stanley, András Szántó, Drew Westen, and Ernest J. Wilson III.

Presented by Live from the NYPL, with support from GFEM member Open Society Institute, this event was recorded by Link TV and is available for viewing here.
