The Communication Initiative Network Re-launches its Website

A global aggregator of media issues, The Communications Initiative Network, has re-launched its website with a strong focus on shared knowledge. The site is a hub of information and networking for policy people, funders, and media makers around the globe. Executive director Warren Feek, says the site is in development and invites users to help further shape the portal, as “it is in all of our interests that the extraordinary thinking and action in the communication and media for development field is shared widely.”

The new comminit.com, which its creators hope will be an integral part of the global discussion on media issues, boasts many new features aimed at engaging a broad spectrum of people interested in media. The site’s developers say comminit.com isn’t an ordinary site; they see it as a platform. According to Feek, “the present site is just the initial manifestation of what is possible. We have many ideas - particularly in the areas of interaction, participation, user-generated content, community building and peer review processes. These will be floated, developed and implemented over the coming months.”
