Benton Foundation Rebuts Administration's Broadband Findings, Suggests Roadmap for Universal Access

Benton Broadband report imageThe Benton Foundation issued the "fact check" one-pager, More than Rhetoric Needed, in response to the Bush Administration's late January report claiming success in meeting the President's broadband deployment goals.

Noting that the official report relied upon inadequate and highly-flawed data, the Foundation corrected the record and seized the opportunity to present a pro-active set of policy recommendations, entitled Universal Affordable Broadband for All Americans.

Benton's accessible 30-page document calls for an aggressive new policy approach, a national broadband strategy, and efforts to modernize federal universal telephone service policies to help meet the challenges of connecting all Americans to broadband.
