Latinos and Public Broadcasting / A Brown Paper

In a "Brown Paper" that marked its launch in 2007, the Latino Public Radio Consortium noted that the nation's Latino population experienced a growth surge of approximately 23 percent between 2000 and 2006. While the population comprised 14.7% of the total U.S. population in 2006, the U.S. Latino population is projected to reach 50 million by 2010. The "Brown Paper" identifies core deficiencies in public broadcasting as it fails to relate to a diverse Latino population in the United States and outlines an intervention strategy to increase effective programming and opportunities for Latinos within the sector.  Copies of the "Brown Paper" can by downloaded below or hard copies can be requested at lprc@comcast.net
