Broadband Community Networks: Building the Digital Commons

This report explores the background of the 'digital commons' idea, the properties that will make up a successful system of community internet that can serve the public interest in new and compelling ways, and the type of structure or 'hub' that is necessary to make such a system work. The report complements a larger effort, entitled "Putting Communities First", which is exploring how Public Television stations can become organizers, or 'hubs' of digital common space.
