GFEM Announces Staff Increase
Actually, we're not a member - but we thought this would be a great place to post news that we thought would be important to our members.
GFEM is pleased to announce new changes in our staff:
Pamela Harris, with whom many of you have been in contact over the past year, has started working with us full-time as of September 1st as a Program Director. She will continue to provide oversight of GFEM's member services and communications as well as supporting the "content" area of our mission. Pam is a graduate of Vassar College and holds a Masters in Journalism from the University of California Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism. She has worked extensively within the non-profit sector and has worked on a number of independent films including her own documentary, Land of Promise: The Story of Allensworth. She can be reached at pharris(at)gfem(dot)org.
Joy "Nikki" Moore joined GFEM as our new Program Associate on August 25th. She has had a stellar career as an event planner winning numerous awards for her outstanding work. She has managed accounts and possesses a fundamental understanding of philanthropy and media. A graduate of the State University of New York, Purchase, our new Program Associate has a flare for detail and will ensure all of GFEM's "i"s are dotted and "t"s crossed. She has already proven to be a magnificent addition to our growing GFEM team. She can be reached at jnmoore(at)gfem(dot)org.
Jeff Perlstein, the coordinator of our Media Policy Working Group (MPWG) joined us full time as of October 1st, also as a Program Director. Working with the MPWG Board Committee, he is ramping up our media policy and infrastructure activities. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Jeff embarked on a media career that includes the co-founding of the Indymedia movement, five years as the Executive Director of Media Alliance in the SF Bay Area, co-founding the Media and Democracy Coalition, and founding and co-coordinating the Media Action Grassroots Network (MAG-Net). Jeff is the proud father of a beautiful three-year old boy, Joaquin. He can be reached at jperlstein(at)gfem(dot)org.
We are thrilled that we now have the capacity to fully serve you and would like to thank our members for supporting the growth of GFEM. Please feel free to contact any of us with comments on our work or suggestions of issues or areas we might address in the future.
