Date:
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 - 12:00pm - Saturday, June 6, 2009 - 12:00pm
Location:
Los Angeles, CA

Since 2006, the annual Beyond Broadcast conference has explored the evolution of participatory digital public media. This summer Beyond Broadcast 2009 (BB09) moves to the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and adds the critically important element of global communication to the program.

Save the date - June 3 to 6 - for this traditionally sold out event!

Join leaders in social and digital media and public service broadcasting from around the world as we share knowledge and best practices on innovations in communication and media. Complete program details and registration information will be available March 20.

This year’s conference theme is "Public Service Media from Local to Global." We will explore how new media are used on a local community basis, then look at global efforts and consider ways to build lasting bridges between participants across the spectrum.

Woven throughout the conference will be discussions of the tools and techniques used, the stories told, the goals and missions pursued, and the risks taken from a creative, financial and often personal perspective. Using a combination of plenary and smaller breakout sessions, BB09 will provide a forum to share, learn and create a lasting community, while providing tools and other resources to help contributors.
