Changing Media: Free Press' Media Policy Summit

The Changing Media Summit by Free Press will highlight the public interest policies that will reshape the future of the Internet, journalism and public media. This one-day event will feature keynote speeches by Acting Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Copps and Susan Crawford of President Barack Obama's National Economic Council.

Summit sessions will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Newseum. Register today.

The event will introduce new research and policy proposals by Free Press on how to respond to the crisis in journalism and achieve universal, affordable, high-speed Internet access. Event attendees will weigh in on these issues in small-group deliberations utilizing innovative, interactive technology.

The Summit will also feature a roundtable discussion with former FCC Chairmen Reed Hundt and Michael Powell; Jessica Rosenworcel, senior communications counsel of the Senate Commerce Committee; Ram Shriram, founder of Silicon Valley investment firm Sherpalo Ventures; and Ben Scott of Free Press. 

The event's sole sponsor is the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Registration is free and open to the public, but space is very limited.
