Philanthropy New York's Documentary Film Series: "Advise & Dissent"

Date:
Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - 5:15pm - 8:00pm
Location:
New York, NY

Philanthropy New York is launching the second year of its Documentary Film Series, on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. They will be screening Advise & Dissent:

Growing politicization is threatening the Supreme Court’s independence.  The feature documentary Advise & Dissent takes viewers behind the scenes of three confirmation battles, where two old-line senators try to hold the crumbling center against pressures from all sides.  A timely and timeless look at the forces re-shaping American justice.

After the screening, the filmmaker, David Van Taylor, will engage in a conversation with the audience moderated by Orlando Bagwell, Director, Media, Arts, and Culture, Knowledge, Creativity and Freedom Program, Ford Foundation.

Philanthropy New York hopes that you will pass this invitation along to your members and network of colleagues.  The event is free while space is available. We encourage attendees to bring along guests.  For more information about the screening, please visit www.philanthropynewyork.org.
