Saving the News: Denver and the Future of Journalism

Date:
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 - 6:30pm
Location:
Denver, CO

Earlier this year, Denver became ground zero in the debate over the future of journalism in America when the 150 year old Rocky Mountain News closed its doors and stopped its presses.

On September 16, Free Press will host a free public event to address the future of journalism, bringing together concerned citizens, journalists, lawmakers and community leaders. The evening's program will explore policy remedies that can be enacted to foster quality journalism, as well as promising new online journalism models that are being put into practice across the country.

Confirmed Panelists:

  • John Temple -- former editor, president and publisher of the Rocky Mountain News
  • Laura Frank -- award-winning investigative reporter for Rocky Mountain News, and co-founder of the new Rocky Mountain Investigative News Network
