Youth Media: State of the Field 2009

McCormick and AED Publish “State of the Youth Media Field Report”

The Academy for Educational Development, with support from the McCormick Foundation, has published a report that provides a recent snapshot of the youth media field.  Youth media with its close ties with youth development, public interest journalism, civic engagement, youth organizing/activism, and service-learning, is a process-enhancing and product-producing tool for young people to examine themselves, their communities, and the world at large.  The report is derived from multiple conversations with practitioners in the U.S. youth media field and it builds on many other reports and research including the Open Society Institute/GFEM report, Investing in Youth Media: A Guide for Grantmakers.  Download a copy of the report below.
