Open Media Foundation Launches, Ramps Up Development of Open Source Tools

Civic Pixel and Deproduction have officially become the Open Media Foundation (OMF) - putting the power of the media into the hands of the people in Denver as well as developing open source tools that make it easier for organizations around the world to do the same. In addition to offering video production and web development for non-profits, this new organization will continue to manage Denver Open Media and implement Open Media software at public access TV stations around the county.

In January, SF Commons will become the 8th public access TV station in the United States to adopt the open source tools OMF developed as part of the Knight News Challenge.  With support from the Google Summer of Code program, OMF made major improvements to Creative Commons support in Drupal.
