Good Pitch SF 2012

Tuesday, October 23, 2012
San Francisco, CA

Good Pitch is a one-day live event first imagined by BRITDOC and the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program in 2008.

Running several times throughout the year in the U.S. and Europe, it brings together specially selected foundations, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, broadcasters and potential corporate and brand partners to form powerful alliances around groundbreaking films.

At Good Pitch, each team has seven minutes to present their film and its associated outreach campaign to a roundtable of 10 invited representatives and a theater of participants. The 10 pitch table participants change for each project, assuring that they always match the right films to the right partners.

2012 is the fourth year of international Good Pitch events and it continues to build momentum. By the end of 2012 more than 120 films will have been presented at Good Pitch events in London, Oxford, New York, Washington DC, Toronto and San Francisco.

This year, three flagship Good Pitch events are taking place in New York, San Francisco and Europe. The third of these, Good Pitch SF 2012, is taking place on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012.

Impact & Learning
Good Pitch continues to track the progress of all the projects presented, and this year they completed their first Good Pitch Review. The event has leveraged more than $3.4 million in funding – in addition to an extensive range of non-fiscal resources, partnerships and expertise from participating organizations. Outcomes have included on-the-spot financing and broadcast offers, and the development of NGO partnerships that went, in one filmmaker’s words, “from first-date to marriage.”
